Repair Terms & Conditions
Last updated: Sept 2025
Welcome to Euro Communications Distributions Limited. These Terms & Conditions govern all device repairs, diagnostics, and related services we provide. By submitting your device to us (in person or by post), you agree to the following terms.
1. Repair Turnaround & Cancellations
We aim to complete most repairs within 48 hours of receiving your device. This is an estimate only and not a guarantee.
Delays may occur due to part availability, courier delays, or complex faults. We accept no liability for such delays.
Once a repair has been authorised and parts have been ordered or work has begun, it cannot be cancelled.
If you cancel before work begins, the device will be returned unrepaired, and diagnostic and postage fees will still apply.
2. Warranty
All repairs include a 3-month limited warranty, covering only the specific repair and part(s) we have supplied and fitted.
We do not warranty the rest of the device or any unrelated components.
The warranty does not cover:
- Devices affected by liquid or physical damage, even if repaired.
- Software issues, settings, or data loss.
- Subsequent or unrelated faults developing after the repair.
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, drops, or unauthorised repair.
Warranty claims will be honoured only after inspection confirms the fault relates directly to our repair.
If no qualifying fault is found, standard diagnostic and postage fees will apply.
3. Diagnostics & Beyond Economical Repair (BER)
If a device is found to be Beyond Economical Repair (BER), a £35 diagnostic fee will apply.
This fee also applies if you decline a repair quote after inspection.
Devices with hidden board-level or multiple component faults may be classed as BER.
4. Passwords, PINs & Access
Please remove all passcodes, PINs, and security locks before submission.
If your device cannot be accessed, please provide your access code so testing can be completed after repair.
Locked devices may incur a £25 fee or delay.
By providing access details, you authorise us to use them strictly for diagnostic and testing purposes only.
We do not browse, copy, or access personal data.
5. Data & Software
You are responsible for backing up all personal data before providing your device.
Repairs can result in total data loss. We do not accept liability for any data, software, or configuration loss.
Optional backup services are available at £20 per device.
We are not responsible for iCloud, Google, or account-lock issues.
6. Additional Faults & Parts
If additional or hidden faults are discovered, we will contact you with a revised quote.
Declining additional work may affect performance or limit functionality.
Replacement parts may be OEM-equivalent, refurbished, or compatible depending on stock.
Colour or brightness variations between parts are normal and not considered a fault.
7. Customer-Supplied Parts
No warranty or guarantee is offered on parts you provide.
We are not liable for incompatibility, failure, or damage caused by customer-supplied components.
Labour charges remain payable even if your part fails.
8. Intermittent Faults
Intermittent or non-replicable faults may not appear during testing.
We are not responsible for such issues or any recurrence after collection.
9. Cosmetic Condition
While every effort is made to protect your device, minor marks or residue may occur during disassembly.
These do not constitute negligence or damage.
Pre-existing cracks or weak points may worsen during repair — this risk is accepted upon submission.
10. Screen & Glass Repairs
Top-glass or lens-only repairs carry a risk of LCD damage due to the separation process.
If this occurs, the customer is responsible for LCD replacement costs.
We will not proceed with such repairs without your prior consent.
11. Batteries & Power Issues
Battery performance may vary slightly after replacement until calibration completes.
We are not liable for post-repair battery swelling, charging issues, or board-level faults.
12. Postal & Courier Repairs
Devices sent by courier or post are at your own risk unless insured.
We are not liable for items lost, damaged, or delayed in transit.
When we arrange return shipping, liability is limited to the insured value you select.
13. Payment, Collection & Abandonment
Payment is due in full before collection or dispatch.
We will attempt contact three times within 30 days of completion.
Devices not collected or paid for within 30 days may be disposed of or sold under the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977.
Any proceeds may be used to cover outstanding costs. No surplus payment will be made to you.
14. SIM Cards, Memory Cards & Accessories
Please remove all SIM cards, memory cards, and accessories before leaving your device.
We are not responsible for loss or damage to these items.
Any left-behind cards will be securely destroyed.
15. Loss, Theft or Fire
Devices are stored securely. In the rare event of fire, theft, or flood, our liability is limited to the current market value of the device (up to £250) unless agreed otherwise in writing.
16. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall not exceed the amount paid for the repair.
We accept no liability for:
- Data or software loss.
- Indirect or consequential losses (e.g. missed calls, downtime, or loss of business).
- Delays in repair turnaround.
- Damage caused by hidden faults or non-genuine parts.
- Any failure of parts not supplied or fitted by us.
We only warranty our repair and the part we have supplied — not the rest of the device.
17. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim, loss, or legal cost arising from:
- The content stored on your device.
- Ownership or account disputes.
- Device locks (Apple ID, Google, Samsung, etc.).
- Claims made by third parties regarding the device.
18. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law.
Any disputes will be resolved exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
